Shapourzadeh shines in Bundesliga 2; Iranian legionnaires round up

PFDC - EUROPE, Amir Shapourzadeh scored a goal and assisted another in FSV Frankfurts 2-2 draw with FC Augsburg on Tuesday.

The four-times Iranian international, who like last weekend played the full 90 minutes, cancelled out Thurk's penalty with a great shot from inside the area 38 minutes into the game.

Frankfurt took the lead 19 minutes into second half, when Shapourzadeh beat his marker on the right wing and sent a cross to the far post where Moroccan Mokhtari headed the ball in.

However, another Thurk-penalty cost Frankfurt a win and so they remain 17th in the 18-team-strong second Bundesliga.

On Wednesday both Vahid Hashemian and Mehdi Mahdavikia came on as substitutes in first German Bundesliga after they had recovered from injuries.

Mahdavikia came on ten minutes from time when Eintracht Frankfurt trailed reigning champions Bayern Munich 1-2 and almost assisted the equalizer when he drove a freekick to the far post where Russ beat Demichelis but hammered the ball over the crossbar from close range.

Vfl Bochum took an early lead against Germany's surprise team TSG Hoffenheim and showed an excellent first-half performance. However, table-toppers Hoffenheim took control of the proceedings after the break and equalized in minute 64 before scoring two further goals within one minute to make it 3-1 (70', 71').

A minute later Hashemian came on for Bochum and had a good chance to pull a goal back, but his header under pressure went narrowly wide (78').

Bochum's Dabrowski had managed to collect two bookings within a minute to receive his marching orders in minute 76.

Bochum stand in 16th position of the table, Frankfurt are 12th.

In England Fulham, without the still injured Andanik Teymourian, defeated Wigan 2-0 thanks to an Andy Johnson-brace.

Osasuna had to travel to Getafe in Spanish Cup and struggled to a goalless draw in the first leg. While Javad Nekounam started and played 85 minutes for Osasuna, showing a much improved performance compared to the game against Betis Sevilla. Masoud Shojaei didn't even travel with the team as he, like Plasil, Juanfran and others, was excluded from the roster.
