Draws for Iranians in Europe

PFDC - EUROPE, While Andranik Teymourian and Ferydoon Zandi remained sidelined injured and Mehdi Mahdavikia didn't come on, only four Iranians got playing time in Europe this weekend.

In Germany Vahid Hashemian came on after 64 minutes in Vfl Bochum's goalless draw agaist Werder Bremen on Saturday and like so often in recent times remained harmless.

Mahdavikia's Eintracht Frankfurt gave away a two-goal-lead and struggled to a 2-2 tie against Vfb Stuttgart on Sunday.

Already on Friday Amir Shapourzadeh had played the full 90 minutes in FSV Frankfurt's goalless draw in Nuremberg.

In Spain Osasuna at least managed to hold Atletico Madrid to a 0-0 stalemate in Pamplona and won the first point under coach Camacho. It could have been all three points for the Basques but Portillo's 19th minute penalty kick was saved by Coupet. Iranian midfielder Javad Nekounam, who had scored from the penalty spot in Osasuna's first game against Villareal (1-1) was the designated spotkick taker, however, the confident Portillo had self-confidently decided to take the kick but failed to deliver.

Nekounam, who again showed improved form compared to last week but yet hasn't reached topshape, started the game for Osasuna and was replaced by offensive player Font 11 minutes from time. Eight minutes earlier Masoud Shojaei had come on for Juanfran. The winger once more showed some good footwork but as often his game lacked effectiveness.
